Introducing Edward! Gorgeous baby boy born by C-section just before Christmas.

I met him for his newborn session when he was 3 weeks old and honestly, he’s so perfect.

The baby photoshoot was in my Truro photography studio, and he was a little dreamboat!

Bump to Baby

I met Vicky and Will when they had their maternity session with their two Whippets at Porthcurnick Beach in November.

Back then, the newborn date seemed so far off but then, as usual, it came around so fast. It was great news to hear that baby made it safely earth side!

Truro baby photographer… and baby whisperer

Parents often joke that they wish they could take me home with them. I have developed some good baby whispering skills over the years!

I think mainly it’s because I feel so confident handling babies, and its second nature shushing and rocking them to sleep.

Occasionally my magic touch doesn’t work and it seems like I have the opposite effect! But fortunately Edward liked me and he was so settled throughout his session.

My top tip for new parents is to really just try and relax even when your baby is crying like it’s the end of the world (as they do!). Babies hate being changed, scream when they’re hungry, cry when their tummy is sore or nappy needs changing… it’s perfectly normal.

Don’t stress if it makes you feel stressed, just try to breath and stay cool. It’s ok for babies to cry while you sort them out.

When you first have a baby just know that you’re going to feel stressed and incompetent. I’m sending you lots of love and virtual hugs to get you through.

Blessings for a January baby

As a January baby myself, I love photographing tiny Capricorns and feeling like we share a little something special.

It’s amazing but after all these years I still love feeling a connection with the babies I photograph. I imagine what their lives will be like, and like to think that coming to me for photos and growing up with those pictures, so full of love, will have a small positive impact and help them have a wonderful life.
