Claim back the parts of yourself your life is desperate for.
Women's Portrait & Boudoir Photography in Cornwall

Women are beautiful at any age, any shape, any size. We give ourselves such a hard time and rarely focus on celebrating all the power and natural beauty we possess.

I offer a chance to do this, whether it’s a boudoir session or empowering confidence boosting session - the result is always the same: you walk away feeling amazing!

My women’s portrait & boudoir sessions are not about stiff headshots or forced, unnatural smiles. Together at my natural light studio in Grampound, near Truro, we will create beautiful photos that capture your strength, softness and power.

These sessions can be just for you, or the focus can be on personal branding photos. I know how important it is to have the right person behind the camera when it’s your identity on the line, and I create a truly safe space where you can be your best self.

If you’re curious about where it might go, get in touch.

Women’s Portrait Photography

for the woman who is waking up

When you have children, the focus shifts to their journey and we lose touch with our own. We spend so much time taking care of everyone else that we forget about ourselves. We get lost in our roles - choosing practical over beautiful.

Then middle age creeps up, with the first signs of aging. Your kids might demand less from you and there’s time to look around. You realise you’re not ‘you’ any more - the world has changed and so have you. It feels like the ground is shifting beneath you and it’s deeply disorienting.

Welcome to your midlife unravelling.

Don’t worry, it’s all perfectly normal, even though it feels like everything is falling apart. It is, but it will come back together in a new way again, I promise.

If you’re feeling like this, it’s time to prioritise your self.

Life is passing - this is it.

A photoshoot at this moment isn't vanity, it's claiming the parts of yourself that your life is desperate for. That voice saying “I’m here, I matter”.

I will help you explore this terrain and find something to hold onto that is real, powerful, and within you.

Boudoir photography

For the woman who wants to meet her edge

Some women arrive knowing exactly what they want. Others arrive absolutely terrified, and leave feeling like an entirely different version of themselves.

These are the sessions I love most.

Contemporary Boudoir photography isn't about posing perfectly in expensive lingerie. It starts with a cup of tea, a lot of chat, and usually quite a lot of laughter. The nerves are always there at the beginning, but when they dissolve magic happens. You appear, from behind the mask, and it is not only beautiful, but liberating.

I'll guide you through every moment, as much as you need. There's no pressure to do anything you don’t want to, and no expectation of what the session should look like. We follow the energy, go at your pace, and see where it takes us.

Sometimes that ends with a powerful portrait that says this is me, right now. Sometimes it ends with bare skin, wind in your hair and a Hell Yeah!

You don't have to be an exhibitionist to love this experience - in fact, it's the camera shy who love it the most!

What to expect

Every session is different because every woman is different. There's no fixed script, no standard set of poses, no predetermined outcome. We talk, we dive deep into who you are and what you need, and the session flows from there.

Before your session

We'll meet for a consultation - in person or video call - to talk through the details like styling, hair and make up, location, what to expect and also to get to know each other. This is where we start to work out what your session looks like, and where the ideas begin to form.

Location

Sessions can take place in my natural light studio in Grampound, at an outdoor location across Cornwall, or even at your home. The location shapes the mood significantly - the studio feels intimate and controlled, outdoors feels expansive and free, at home feels personal and real.

On the day

I expect you to arrive feeling slightly terrified, and that’s ok! We’ll start slowly - looking through outfits, working out a rough flow. I'll guide you through everything - how to stand, where to look, how to move - you never have to wonder what to do. The session finds its own direction as we go, and most women find that by the middle of it, something shifts and it’s immensely fun.

Afterwards

Your images are carefully edited and presented at your viewing and ordering appointment, around two to three weeks later. This is where you'll see your photos for the first time and choose what you'd like to take home.

Frequently Asked Questions

I am incredibly nervous and don't know how to pose. Is that okay?

Almost every woman who books feels exactly the same way. It's one of the most common things I hear, and it has never once stopped a session from being wonderful. I'll guide you through everything, from how to stand to where to look, and if something feels uncomfortable we’ll move on. Your session will feel like a warm conversation, rather than a performance. The nerves are always there at the start, but they never stay.

What should I wear?

I advise having 2-4 looks, each based on a different aspect of yourself. The way to choose clothing is to first ask ‘how do I want to feel’ and pick clothes that do that for you. Ideally there should be some element of what you wear that is authentic, comfortable and beautiful.

I will give some styling guidance and also have a collection of layers and dresses at my studio which you’re welcome to borrow from. There is no right or wrong, and nothing is expected.

Do I have to stick to boudoir poses and wear lingerie?

Not at all. Boudoir style is one option within these sessions, not a requirement. Some women come wanting a beautiful, confident portrait - fully clothed, natural, honest. Others want to explore something more intimate and sensual. You can land somewhere in between. You decide, and you can change your mind at any point during the session.

Where do the women’s portraits take place?

I have a private, warm and quiet home studio space in Grampound, near Truro. Sessions can also be at an outdoor location across Cornwall, or at your home. Each location creates a completely different mood. The studio feels intimate and controlled, outdoors feels expansive and free, at home feels personal and real. We'll choose together based on what you want to feel. A small travel charge applies for locations further afield.

How long does a women’s portrait or boudoir photography session last?

Most women’s portrait and boudoir sessions last around 60 - 90 minutes, though there's no strict timetable. We go at your pace and give the session the time it needs.

Will my photos be kept private?

Yes, completely. Your images are yours and yours alone. I will never share, publish, or use your photos without your explicit permission - and for these sessions in particular, that permission will never be assumed. Your privacy is always respected.

How much does a women's portrait session cost in Cornwall?

Bespoke packages start from £295, which includes your consultation, the session itself, and your viewing and ordering appointment. Images and artwork are chosen afterwards - full pricing details are shared once you get in touch. If you don't love your photos, you don't have to buy anything.

How and where will I see my final images?

Approximately 2-3 weeks after your session we’ll meet at my studio where the final gallery of edited images will be presented and you can then order your package and choose your images.

What if I don't like how I look in photos?

That's exactly why we start with a consultation - so I understand what works for you, what you're hoping to feel, and what your concerns are. I'll guide you through poses, angles and lighting that are genuinely flattering rather than generically so. Most women are pleasantly surprised by how much they love their images.

Can I bring a friend?

Yes, if having someone you trust there would help you relax, bring them. Some women find it makes the experience more fun and less daunting, especially for the first part of the session. We can talk through what works best during your consultation.
