Bethany's newborn photo shoot was at my home studio on the Roseland in Cornwall. It was lovely to meet a Roseland baby - they were from St Mawes! And because it was a last minute booking we had to squeeze it in on a week day when I had my baby at home with me (6 weeks old). It turned out not to be a great idea, as my eldest would put it. He decided to enter growth spurt mode and instead of sleeping for most of the morning as he usually would, cried and fussed. Poor Bethany's grandmother who'd accompanied her mum to the shoot had her hands full trying to cope with him while I tried to stay calm and work with Bethany. How she stayed settled and peacefully asleep for the second half of the session I'll never know! She was totally gorgeous and I wish I'd thought to take a behind the scenes photo of her lying there so serene with my little one hot and bothered in the background.
It was lovely to be back doing a newborn photo shoot again - my first after a 2.5 month break to have my baby. I do love what I do - it felt like coming home!
